Digitstem Review: Legit Affiliate Marketing Site or Scam?
I first encountered Digitstem on Twitter via a post where a particular lady made her first trip outside Nigeria, and commented that she wouldn't have been able to afford such an expensive vacation if not for Digitstem.
Quite interesting right?
Immediately, I got interested. What kind of affiliate marketing platform in Nigeria pays you so much money to be able to afford an expensive vacation to Dubai?
Well, if that was true, then I want to be part of such a program.
So, I'm going to try signing up on the Digitstem and browse the site to see how it works and if it's worth the time.
If you're interested in joining an affiliate marketing program from Nigeria, then you want to read through this review to get my final verdict on Digitstem.
How Does Digitstem Work?
I tried signing up on the Digitstem website. They have a mobile app, but I wanted to have quicker access to review the features of this program.
The sign up was very quick. I just had to provide my email and phone number. After verifying my email, I completed my profile by providing my full name and address, and that was it.
I was then prompted to become a member by paying a membership fee of $10 per year.
To make payments, you have to first deposit into your Digitstem wallet. Interestingly, they have a unique conversion rate for Naira to Dollar payments.
Instead of the official Naira to Dollar rate of about 1,600 Naira to 1 dollar, Digitstem uses an exchange rate of 500 Naira to 1 USD.
I selected the Flutterwave Naira payment gateway to confirm if this conversion rate was the right one.
But it seems to be showing the same exchange rate.
I'm quite skeptical about this exchange rate, so I won't be going ahead with the payment.
Maybe, I'll have to talk to Digitstem customer care to confirm if the exchange rate used on their platform is real or not.
Is Digitstem Real or Fake?
Well, the platform is available via their website and mobile app, and you can register as a user. So, I guess that makes it real.
They also have a list of featured digital products that you can try out if any of them piques your interest.
And by the way, you can also become a vendor on the platform and make money by offering digital products that are marketed by other affiliate marketers.
The registration fee to become a vendor on Digitstem is pegged at $30, which they claim is subject to change and non-refundable.
How Can You Get Started With Digitstem?
To get started on Digitstem is quite simple. After signing up, you are encouraged to take part in their eLearning platform, where you get equipped with all the knowledge and tools needed to succeed on the platform.
Once you are through with onboarding on the platform after paying the membership fee, you can then start recommending digital products and making money.
Each digital product comes with a unique referral link, which you can shorten by using the url shortener provided by Digitstem.
You can then start selling on social media or other platforms where you have an audience.
How Can You Make Money With Digitstem?
You can make money on Digitstem either as an affiliate marketer or a digital product vendor.
Vendors are vetted by Digitstem before publishing their products. Vendors’ products, sales pages, and customer relations must meet the requirements set by Digitstem before products go live on the platform.
Vendors pay a commission per sale, which can vary from 10% up to 60% of the product price.
How Much Can You Make With Digitstem?
It depends.
How much a vendor or affiliate marketer makes will depend on the quality of the product and the ability of the affiliate marketer to find the right audience willing to pay for that product.
So, there's no guarantees when it comes to making money on Digitstem. The only guarantee is that affiliates and vendors will pay a yearly fee of $10 and $30 respectively, if they want to stay active on the platform.
Is Digitstem Legit or Scam?
Well, it depends on what you mean by legit.
The issue I have with these kinds of platforms is that you never know if you'll succeed or fail when you join.
Forget about the testimonies you hear and read on social media or the sponsored posts online recommending these kinds of programs.
One thing they don't tell you is that you'll have to grind to earn every single penny that you're able to make on the platform.
In other words, selling digital products is hard work! You're more likely to fail than succeed.
In fact, let me just cut right to the chase, there's a big chance that you won't make a penny with Digitstem.
If your goal is to make easy money online, then this might not be the right avenue. But if you're curious and want to learn about affiliate marketing, and you're willing to grind to make a sale, then this might just be the perfect platform.
Positives About Digitstem
The main positive about Digitstem is that they provide affiliates with all the knowledge and tools needed to succeed on the platform.
Also, if the exchange rate currently on their website is confirmed to be true, which is well below the official exchange rate, then that's a good one.
Negatives About Digitstem
I have nothing against Digitstem, and I've not had any negative experience while using the platform.
But if I would make a suggestion, it would be in their pricing.
I believe that it's better for them to price their products selling in Nigeria in the Naira currency to avoid the exchange rate fluctuations.
I could have signed up for their membership if I was sure about the pricing, which was way below the official exchange rate, and made me skeptical about the legitimacy of the platform.
Should You Join Digitstem?
Like I said, if you're curious about trying out an affiliate marketing program in Nigeria, and not just looking for some easy money, then you can consider joining Digitstem.
The whole process to becoming a vendor or affiliate on the platform is quite easy to understand, so anyone willing to learn can quickly get the hang of making money on Digitstem.
So, it's all up to you.
